Next, we make a photo stop at the Commando Memorial, a Category A listed structure standing 17 ft (5.2 m) high. This striking bronze sculpture depicts three World War II commandos in full uniform, including cap comforters, ammunition pouches, and weapons. It has appeared in several films, most famously in four of the Harry Potter movies. The Glenfinnan Monument, erected in 1815, commemorates the Jacobite clansmen who fought for Prince Charles Edward Stuart. Standing 18 meters high, it features a lone kilted highlander at the top, a poignant tribute to the fallen clansmen.
