Itinerary
Day 1 – DELHI
Arrive Delhi Airport. Delhi - India's capital and a major gateway to the country, Delhi is contemporary and a bustling metropolis which successfully combines in its fold the ancient and the modern. Its strategic location was one of the prime reasons why successive dynasties chose it as their seat of power. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind.
On arrival, meet, assist & check in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Delhi.
DAY 2 – DELHI
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit Jama Masjid, which is the largest mosque in India. Enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, the busiest market in Old Delhi…..noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian. You will then visit the Red Fort, it continues to be significant till date, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister makes a speech from its ramparts as the Indian flag is hoisted. Later, drive past India Gate, President House and several other government buildings in Edwin Lutyen’s Delhi before you head towards Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Thereafter, visit Humayun’s Tomb, Later, visit the Qutab Minar, which is the tallest brick minaret in the world.
DAY 3 - DELHI- AGRA
Post breakfast, check out and drive to Agra - the city lies in the Western part of Uttar Pradesh on the bank of River Yamuna. Though the wonderful allure of the Taj Mahal attracts people from around the world over to Agra, it is not a standalone attraction. The city offers a trail of fascinating tombs and mausoleums to explore.
Arrive and check in to your hotel. Afternoon, proceed for half day city tour of Agra - visit the Red Fort, which was commissioned in 1565 by Akbar. Visit one of the 7 wonders of the world - the Taj Mahal, a mausoleum built as a symbol of Emperor Shah Jahan’s devotion to his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. Considered an architectural marvel, its construction took thousands of workers over 21 years to complete.
DAY 4 - AGRA - RANTHAMBHORE
Post breakfast, check out and drive to Ranthambore, en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, which was built by Emperor Akbar and is home to many historical buildings. Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World heritage site.
Further drive to Ranthambhore - a populous tiger reserve, but also the heritage sites which includes the mighty Ranthambore Fort, Jogi Mahal, Ancient temple and Rajbagh ruins which are the reminders of glory and grandeur of the Rulers of Ranthambore.
DAY 5 - RANTHAMBHORE
Today early morning, proceed for a game drive in the popular Ranthambore National Park - once the private game reserve of the royal family of Jaipur. Ranthambore's diverse topography with a mix of rolling hills and crags, meadows, lakes and rivulets, offers some of the finest opportunities for sighting the magnificent tiger in the wild. Apart from the tiger, other wildlife in the park includes sloth bear, leopard, jackal, fox, hyena, Indian wolf, chital, sambar deer, blue bull antelope or nilgai, rhesus macaque, langur and an incredible variety of birds. The 10th century Ranthambore fort dominates the landscape of this dry-deciduous forest.
DAY 6 - RANTHAMBHORE - JAIPUR
Post breakfast, check out and drive to Jaipur - the gateway to the magnificent and vibrant state of Rajasthan. Known as “The Pink City” when, in 1876, Maharaja Ram Singh had most of the buildings painted pink - the colour of hospitality - in preparation for a visit by Britain's Queen Victoria. Today, the city is known for its bazaars, forts, temples, palaces, and wildlife sanctuaries.
