Itinerary

Day 1 – KOCHI (COCHIN)

Arrive Kochi - earlier known as Cochin, a city located in Ernakulum District of Kerala. Kochi is the financial and commercial capital of Kerala. Arrive and check in to your hotel.

Later proceed for a half day city tour covering Mattancherry Palace - gifted to the king of Cochin by the Portuguese in 1555, a Jewish Synagogue about 500 years old, Chinese fishing nets and local spice markets.

Return to your hotel. Overnight stay at Kochi.

DAY 2 – KOCHI - MUNNAR

Post breakfast, proceed towards the spectacularly scenic hill-station of Munnar, which derives its name from the confluence of the three rivers, around which the town grew. Today, it offers beautiful vistas, cardamom and spice plantations, aromatic oil factories, sights of several endangered species and the purple-blue Neelakurinji flowers that bloom every 12 years.

Arrive and check in to your hotel. Spend your day at leisure. Overnight stay at Munnar.

DAY 3 - MUNNAR

After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Munnar. Explore Eravikulam National Park, home to various elusive and endangered species. It is a great place to enjoy trekking and offers stunning views of the tea plantations. Later, proceed towards the Tea Museum (closed on Monday), which gives an insight into the history of tea plantations of this region. Also visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Flower Garden.

Return to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Munnar.

DAY 4 - MUNNAR - THEKKADY

Post breakfast, drive to Thekkady (Periyar) - Thekkady is synonymous with uninterrupted hills, rich biodiversity and spice plantations. The place is best known for the Periyar National Park. Arrive and check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful boat-ride on Periyar Lake, later proceed to watch the traditional Kalari show with its impressive display of martial arts, fire performances and more.

Return to your hotel. Overnight stay at Thekkady.

DAY 5 - THEKKADY - KUMARAKOM

Today after breakfast, drive to Kumarakom - a charming emerald peninsula jutting into the picturesque Vembanad Lake, dotted with innumerable traditional country rafts, boats and canoes. The fresh water of the lake flows into the mainland, making a labyrinth of lagoons, canals and waterways.

Arrive and check in to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Kumarakom.

DAY 6 - KUMARAKOM - KOVALAM/TRIVANDRUM

Post breakfast, drive to Trivandrum / Kovalam. Upon arrival proceed for half day sightseeing - covering the lighthouse, Vellayani Lake and Valiyathura Pier. Visit the Napier Museum, built in the 19th century. This Indo - Saracenic structure boasts of a “natural” air-conditioning system and houses a rare collection of archaeological and historic artifacts. Visit the Kuthiramalika Palace, built by the King of Travancore and the Padmanabhaswamy temple (in proper Indian attire), western clothes are not allowed.Return to your hotel. Overnight stay at Trivandrum.

DAY 7 - TRIVANDRUM - KANYAKUMARI - TRIVANDRUM

After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Kanyakumari (approx. 80 kms | 2 hrs), formerly known as Cape Comorin, is a coastal town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the southernmost tip of mainland India and thus referred to as "The Land's End". Kanyakumari is popular for its beautiful beaches, unique Vivekananda Rock Memorial, and stunning sunrise and sunset views. It is also a major pilgrimage centre for Hindus.

Return to your hotel. Overnight stay at Trivandrum.
